Hi, my name is Emma, I am in my third year of crochet and have mountains of ideas and creations waiting to be developed, but sadly there is not enough hours in the day for me to do all i want to do. I have a family with 4 boys that occupy a lot of my time, especially Oscar at just over 11 months he loves to help out with my crochet and patten writing. So in between being a mum and wife i have my crochet. Crochet is my passion, i got into crochet when a close friend was pregnant i wanted to have a unique gift for the baby something that nobody else could give. I had been to the super market and looked at the magazines and found one on crochet, which i didn't know anything about. I looked through the magazine and nothing made sense, then i decided to look it up on youtube. Things became clearer and i tried it out and i made a crochet blanket for my god daughter as you can see in the photo below. The tutorial i used was by verypinknits, it was probably not the easiest first project to have done knowing what i know now i could have made life much easier by using acrylic yarn and not fluffy yarn. i think the granny stitch is perfect for beginner as it is an easy concept but this patten was hard because i didn't understand gauge and tension and the other thing i found difficult for this was i kept loosing stitches at the end of the row. I had finished it and i was hooked and before long i was on my way to becoming and established crocheter.
My favourite crocheter is Mikey from the crochet crowd his technique and approach to teaching is really great as he makes patten following easy to do, he is a a tool in my crochet box. The reason for me starting my blog is that i want to share my creations and ideas and even my thoughts on crochet. I will hopefully fill your life with a little more crochet pleasure until next time happy hooking.
