Sleeper Romper

Hi, guys, it's has been a little while since my last post, but being a busy mum of 4 boys, the summr holiday revolve around them. Today I am sharing with you my pattern for a romper. I designed this romper for my little lovely Oscar, using Caron cakes. Winter is approching i find that he moves all night in his bed and is not always under a blanket and he doesn't support very well the sleep sac. Grab your Caron cakes and here we go.



The pattern is for size 18-24 months

What you will need.



Gauge/tension
4x4"/10x10cm =7 rows and 15 sts

Finished garment size
Chest: 28"/71cm
Hips: 31"/ 79cm
length from shoulder: 25.5"/64cm

Abbreviations (US terminology)
ch: chain                          sc: single crochet            
dc: double crochet         f/o: fasten off
st(s): stitch(s)                fphdc: front post half double crochet
bphdc: back post half double crochet

This pattern is adjustable you can add rows to the body or the legs to suite your needs.

Romper (5mm hook)
The romper is worked in one piece from the neck down. Ch3 always counts as a stitch

Ch 56+2

Row 1: dc into the 4th st from the hook and in every ch across. ch3 and turn (56 sts)
Row 2: dc into the same st as the ch3, *1 dc into the next st, 2 dc in the next, repeat from* to the end of the row, ch3 and turn. (84 sts)
Row 3: dc in every st across the row, ch3 and turn. (84 sts)
Row 4: dc into the same st as the ch3, *1 dc into the next 2 sts, 2 dc in the next, repeat from * to the end, cut the colour you're using and join the next colour of your yarn cake, ch3 and turn. (112 sts)
Row 5: repeat row 3. (112 sts)
Row 6: dc in 8 sts, 2 dc in the next, * dc into the next 9 sts, 2 dc in the next, repeat from* until the end, cut the colour you're using and join the next colour of your yarn cake, ch3 and turn. (123 sts)
Rows 7-9: dc across the row, ch3 and turn, at the end of row 9 cut the colour you're using and join the next colour of your yarn cake, ch3 and turn. (123 sts)
Row 10: dc in 19 sts, sk 22 sts, dc into the next 40 sts, sk 22, dc into the last 19 sts, ch3 and turn. (79 sts)
Row 11: dc in every st across the row, ch3 and turn, 
Row 12: dc in every st across the row, cut the colour you're using and join the next colour of your yarn cake, ch3 and turn. (79 sts)
Row 13: dc in 18 sts, 2 dc in the next, dc into 39 sts, 2 dc in the next, dc into the last 19 sts, ch3 and turn. (81 sts)
Row 14: dc into every st across, ch3 and turn. (81 sts)
Row 15: dc in 19 sts, 2 dc in the next, dc in 40 sts, 2dc into the next, dc into the last 19 sts, cut the colour you're using and join the next colour of your yarn cake, ch3 and turn. (83sts)
Row 16: Repeat row 14. (83 sts)
Row 17: dc in 19 sts, 2dc into the next, dc in 41 sts, 2dc into the next, dc into the last 20 sts, ch3 and turn. (85 sts)
Row 18: repeat row 16, cut the colour you're using and join the next colour of your yarn cake, ch3 and turn . (85 sts)
Row 19: dc in 20 sts, 2 dc into the next, dc in 42 sts, 2 dc into the next, dc into the last 20 sts, ch3 and turn. (87 sts)
Row 20: 1 dc across the row, ch3 and turn. (87 sts)
Row 21: 1 dc across the row,cut the colour you're using and join the next colour of your yarn cake, ch3 and turn. (87 sts)
Rows 22-28: repeat row 20 and 21 changing colours on rows 24 and the end of row 27. (87 sts) DO NOT fasten off

Legs
Row 1: ch3, dc in 39 sts, ch 3 and turn. (40 sts)
Row 2: dc across, cut the colour you're using and join the next colour of your yarn cake, ch3 and turn, (40 sts)
Rows 3-11: dc across the row, ch3 and turn. changing colour at the ends of rows 5,8 and 11. (40 sts)
ch2 does not count as a st.
Row 12: ch2 hdc into the 1st st, fphdc around the 2nd st, bphdc around the next, repeat 18 more times, hdc into the last sts. (40 sts)
Rows 13-16:repeat row 12 fasten off at the end of row 12.(40 sts)

rejoin your yarn on row 1 sk 7 sts after the 1st 40 crocheted.
and repeat rows 1-16. 

Crotch 
join the yarn in the back of your piece join your yarn at the bottom one of your legs with the right side facing. 
Row 1: ch1 and sc into the same st, make 22 sc down the side fo the piece, sk the st with the dc of row 1, sc into 7 skipped sts of row 1 of the legs, sc up the other side of the leg for 23 sts, ch1 and turn. (53 sts)
Rows 2-5: sc crochet across the row, ch1 and turn, f/o at the end of row 5. (53 sts)

Front fastening and yoke
with 4.5mm hook join your yarn in the bottom of the front leg with the right side facing. 

make 65 sc up the side of the piece, sc into the same st as the last, sc around the neck line, 2 sc into the corner st, 64 sc down the side of the piece, ch1 and turn.

changing to 5mm hook
Row 1: sc in 65 sts, ch1 and turn. (65 sts)
Rows 2-3: sc into every st, ch1 and turn f/o at the end of row 3. (65 sts)

join yarn on the opposite side and repeat rows 1-3. (65 sts)

Fastenings 
For the legs place your buttons on the back of the crotch right side facing i placed 3 buttons on each side .


for the front placed 4 buttons, placing the 1st just above the crotch, and equally placing the rest.


Arms
with 5mm join the same colour yarn and make i sc around for a total of 26 sts.

Wow you are finished, do not forget to weave in your ends.
