looking for a little glam for the party season here I have written a pattern to create your own little purse for the festive season or quick last minute gift for a friend or loved one.
Please read the pattern before you start your project to see if you have all you need.
You will need
- 1 ball of Rico design Juliette or Romeo
- some fabric to line your purse (optional)
- 1 button of choice for the fastening (optional)
- 4 mm crochet hook
- scissors
- tapestry needle
Abbreviations (US terminology)
ch: chain
sc: single crochet
sc2tog: single crochet two stitches together
st(s): stitch(s)
f/o: fasten off
Purse
ch30+1
Row 1: sc into the 2nd st and across the ch to the end ch1 and turn (30sts)
Rows 2-40: sc across the row ch1 and turn. (30sts)
Row41: sc2together, sc to the last 2 sts then sc2tog, ch1 and turn. (28sts)
Rows 42-54: repeat row 41, (2sts)
Row 55: sc2tog ch1 and turn DO NOT FASTEN OFF.
You will now work your border: 2sc into the last st you made, make a sc down the side of your work when you get the corner make a 2sc, sc across the bottom of the piece then 2sc in to the next corner, sc up the other side fo your work, ss in to the 1st sc at the beginning and fasten off and weave in your ends.
fold your piece in 3 and sew up both sides with a whip stitch.
if you want to you can add a little button to fasten and line your purse with some fabric to make it more festive I kept mine simple.
